Introducing the Competition Sections of the BOO Festival!

This year, an impressive number of films have been submitted. While our curators are carefully selecting and shaping the program, we’re excited to already share with you the competition sections. Because BOO is not only about screenings – it’s also a place where short films compete for awards in several categories. And this year, we’ve prepared quite a few of them:
European BOO
The main competition for shorts from across Europe – from fiction and documentary to animation and experimental works. It highlights the most exciting short-form creations from the European film scene.
Czech-German BOO
A special category that fosters cross-border ties and cultural exchange. Shorts from the Czech Republic and Germany compete here across all genres.
mini BOO, 12+BOO, 15+BOO, BOO for the Elder and Wiser
Shorts can resonate with everyone – no matter their age. That’s why we have competition sections tailored to audiences of different generations: from the youngest (mini BOO), through teenagers (12+ and 15+), all the way to seniors. All of these sections showcase European shorts and prove that short film can be fun, inspiring, and moving for every viewer.
Jury
The winners will be chosen by distinguished figures from the cultural and public spheres. We’re keeping the names under wraps for now, but it’s already clear that the jury will bring both broad perspective and a discerning eye for film.
Get ready for a diverse lineup of films, to be revealed soon in the festival program.
